Everest Base Camp Trek - 14 Days

everest base camp trek

Everest base camp trek is an adventurous trek for those who want to explore and evolve around the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest. There is no doubt that it would be the best choice for those who dream of walking on the clouds above the elevation of 5,364m. Though you won’t be making it to the summit, the base of Mt. Everest is not less than any treasure. Well, in our Everest Base Camp trek package, our destination would be the southern base camp of Mt. Everest. One of the most fascinating things about Everest base camp is that you can witness the view of several other highest peaks in the world including Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

After the preparation of the trekking and arrangement of all the required permits as well as checking the equipment, we head towards Lukla. You might have heard about the Lukla airport as one of the most extreme airports in the world, so you must have one extra day to wait in case if the flight toward Lukla gets delayed due to unconditional weather. Lukla onwards, our real trekking gets started. We will be hiking moderately for 5 to 7 hours each day to reach our target i.e. Everest Base Camp. In the meantime, we will stop at several checkpoints for acclimatization to ensure that we won’t be suffering from altitude sickness because each day we will climb to a higher altitude.

It is obvious that you will surely get to learn something new while you embark for a trek, like different cultures and traditions, lifestyle, foods, uniforms, festivals and even interesting myths and legends of the unique places. Since, Sherpas, often famous as the born mountaineers are the major residence in the Everest region, we can soak up into their exceptional way of living. They are alike Tibetan and they practice Buddhism as their main religion. That is why the trail is full of Buddhist monuments and other religious entities.

As to preserve the natural beauty of this region from the reach of the modern world, it was declared as Sagarmatha national park. Later, the national park was also enlisted as a UNESCO world heritage site where different flora and fauna are protected. Rare species of animals like snow leopard, red panda, phosphorous are also habitat in here and herbs and vegetations like oak, Rhododendron, Pine, Birch, etc can also be spotted along the trail. One must ensure that they have the Sagarmatha National Park Special permit in order to walk through Sagarmatha National Park.

Passing along the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi river banks, crossing several suspension bridges, hiking through rocky and steep trails; you will be astonished by the jaw-dropping view from Everest base camp. It would be the best day of your life when you finally reach your ultimate destination of this trek. For anyone of any age, if they are physically sound enough and do not have any health issues, they can go for this amazing trek and gather some remarkable memories that will last till the end.
